What is a Clear Underground Crossing?

Clear Crossing is a non-destructive process, using pressurized water (Hydro) and a vacuum system (Vac) to remove soil cover to expose underground pipelines, utilities and other buried structures allowing visual inspection so that a Clear Crossing can be achieved.

What is a Hydrovac?

Each Clear Crossing Hydro Vac Jetting Truck is fully contained and works as three units in one: a water truck, a pressure truck and a vacuum truck.  Water from the hydrovac is pressurized and delivered through a hand-held wand to liquefy the soil cover.  The resulting slurry (composed of water and earth) is then sucked into a debris hose by a powerful vacuum system and stored in a debris tank on the truck.  The pipeline, utility or other buried infrastructure can now be identified and or repairs completed.
